Results of Dundee Wheelers 10 mile time trial on Wednesday 25th May. Congratulations to all those who were brave enough to turn out especially the organiser. Well done Sheila.
First place went to Brian Sproul who said 'I decided not to get to out of breath as I went round as I'm suffering from a cold'!

Sad News of the death of Mr Rod Johnston

Obituary from The Courier 24.1.05 One of the best known figures in cycling circle, Rod Johnston, died suddenly.
Mr Johnston, who was in his early 50's, took ill on Saturday and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but died in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Wheels in motion for city race

A MAJOR two-day cycling event, which would see around 60 cyclists competing for a prize fund of £850, is set to return to Dundee next year.
Dundee Thistle cycling club is in talks with the sports governing body, the Scottish Cycling Union, and hopes to promote a three-race series for cyclists just a notch or two down from the best in the country.
The SCU's 2005 calendar is already packed, but Thistle chairman Ali Chisholm believes the Dundee-based event would be a major attraction for racers from Scotland and the north of England.

REVAMP TO CYCLE ROUTE
A major programme of maintenance for Dundee's Green Circular, the premier cycle route, is to be undertaken by the city council writes Brian Allison, local government reporter, The Courier. Leisure and arts director Steve Grimmond said the capital cost of bringing the route up to acceptable standard would be £54,000. He said the circular had been the subject of many different standards with techniques of maintenance, with no continuity throughout its length or consideration of extra demands on well-used sections.

Boxing Day impromtu time trial

Fifteen riders took part in the Boxing Day impromtu time trial. Quickest on the Templeton Woods, up Tullibaccart and Back to Muirhead course was Phil Brown Deeside Thistle in a time of 29.02. Brown was the only rider inside 30 minutes. Steve Cassells (VC De L'Avenir) 30.10 was second with Andy Fenwick (Dundee Wheelers) 30.42 third.

Braveheart Cycling Fund

The Braveheart Cycling Fund has been set up by Scottish racing cyclists to raise money to fund the development of future Scottish international racing cyclists and to assist them gain the necessary experience competing in events in Europe.
At their 1st fund raising dinner they raised over £3000 towards the development of scottish cyclists. Many thanks must go to all who attended the evening and those who generously bidded at the auction.

A totally new stage between Limoges and Saint-Flour, crossing the magnificent region of the Volcans du Cantal, the towns of Égletons (km 94), Salers (km 159) and Murat (km 202) and the famous Puy Mary.
Thursday night Circuit training

Hello you lot.
Well in case you have not heard yet ,I am going to try and stop bikers belly growing over the Winter ( that's my motor bike of course).
So starting on Nov 6th I will be doing some Circuit training in the boys club on a Thursday night for an hour (8.30-9.30 ish) .
This will involve a lot of running about between stations ,with a lovely choices of tortures scribbled on some card.
All the while listening to some of the best kick ass tunes ( left behind by the aerobics girls 3yrs ago)
